Painting The 1967 Mustang Fastback 'Jet Black Green Mica'
Today is the day! The '67 Fastback is in the paint booth getting color! Jeff at Thunderdome Car Museum has been putting in tons of work on the car, and it's paying off. This painting process involves 4 stages: light gray primer surfacer, dark gray primer sealer, 3 coats of custom base coat, then 3 coats of clear. However, it's still considered a two stage page job.
The color is a custom color that we came up with that we're calling "Jet Black Green Mica". It's based off of a Porsche color that I really like called Jet Black Metallic. That color has blue and violet metal flakes in the paint. For our color, we substituted the blue and violet metal flakes for a green metal flake, to pay homage to the green color that the car was when I first got it.
This restomod Mustang is coming together nicely. It gets my vote for muscle car of the week!

We Just Bought A 1969 Camaro Pro Street Project! 😬
Переглядів 9632 місяці тому
Here's our new project: a 1969 Camaro Pro Street BEAST! This video is the first of many, as we will guide you through the restoration and restomodding of this iconic muscle car, highlighting the challenges we'll face along the way. The 396 engine is untested, as is the TH400 trans. There's no brakes, no third member, no driveshaft, and no axles. It's needs a lot. But - the body is straight and ...

Переглядів 7 тис.8 місяців тому
It's an exciting day for us at Classic Nation! Today, we mocked up the wheel and tire combination for the 1967 Mustang Project, and set the car down on it's own suspension for the first time in about 3 years! The wheels are American Racing VN427 wheels, satin black with polished spinners. They are 17" x 9.5" in all four corners. Backspacing on the front is 6.5", and the rear backspacing is 5.75...

A mustang out in the wild.
He’s right you can tell by the fenders and the tail lights . Now I never seen inside a 66 so I don’t know what it looks like inside but the grill fenders and tails lights are a give away . Because I owe 3 65 ss .
I had a 67 fastback what a dummy to have let it go miss it great car.
My first car was a 1953 buick special with a straight eight engine. The last of the straight eights!
I have two...one my Dad bought new.
66 was a better looking car
I recently recieved a quote from the local redi strip, 8k$ for a 59 Beetle. Yikes
Do you build muscle cars for people?
Where did you get the seat done and what type of steering wheel is that?
No it's a 66" really 66 are you sure you actually own it?
Does it run 🙄
Indy 500 pace car 1947 Nash Ambassador.
El Segundo California plant.
My dad had a 48 Super 4 door sedan. Black with standard transmission. I loved that car.
Good job ! Look at all the comments for added tips. Amazing how many of us that do this trade watched this video. Shows we're all looking to learn more and share what we have learned hands on. Thanks for your video
Love my 65. Have had it for over 40 years now
These were my first two cars in HS. My 65 had no power steering, no PB, nothing, and it had a 283 CID. My 66 had a 327 CID, I damn near put a starter in it every month and I couldn't keep a good set of tires on the front for NOTHING, and it ALWAYS broke ball joints. Ironically, it was the same color as yours, but mine wasn't that nice!
1965 Super Sport all day long is the most iconic of all Impala's ever made!
Pro touting
Go for the 65
I absolutely know that feeling when something that seems highly unlikely to happen, does happen, and things just go your way.
Fan to wide
I so miss my '65
'65 was the best.
I prefer the '65.👌
66 has cooler tail lights
I've had one of each , 1964, 65, 66 and 3 1967 Impalas . Shure wish I still had them .
Well, now I know where Fred Meyer got their commercial from! 😂
You stole it. And V8 too!! 351 is capable of some major horsies.
What wheels brand are these
Hi I been having a hard time trying to figure out what's under the hood of my 94 cobra.
It would be a perfect Steve McQueen Bullitt.
really?!? on open diff ?!?! yuck
Very cool ride. I am starting to do an almost identical build with a 48 GMC. Did you modify the firewall at all?
Luv it. Thanks
Hi , wondering how you lowered the front end? I've got a 59 Apache i need to lower front and back. Anyone ?
Where can I find those cupholders!?!? Truck is 🔥 !!!
SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO Y COMO SE LLAMAN ESOS ÁCIDOS POR FAVOR GRACIAS
which one do you like best?😊
Nice truck! What suspension set up are you running front and back?
Can I get chin lip and rear spoiler links please!
Like the idea that you stayed with the 6 cylinder which are great engines!!!! Most cars do not need more than them for every day driving!!! Also love shape of the Fleetline fastback!!!
Flip your vise grips over, they, and all off set jaw pliers, like channel locks and pipe wrenches are directionally tighter in gripping 😂
Seen a 62 convertible last sat with the 409 under the hood.first 409 car I've seen outside a car show.
Your first weld was on oily/rusty bolt & did not penetrate. 2nd was on clean surface.
I believe the neutral safety switch wiring harness is also different.
It's much more than the OD ratio, lol. The 200 is better
They do make a Stud Remover Tool that has a cam lock in it....instead of your Granddaddies Pliers.
awesome car
